Detailed 5 Days Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Pickup & Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Your safari guide from Openbill Safaris Uganda will pick you up from Entebbe International Airport or your hotel before beginning your scenic journey to Kibale National Park, known as the primate capital of the world. Along the way, enjoy beautiful countryside views, tea plantations, local villages, and scenic landscapes before arriving at your lodge for relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Wetland Walk
After breakfast, head into Kibale Forest for an unforgettable chimpanzee tracking adventure guided by experienced park rangers. Trek through the tropical rainforest while searching for chimpanzees and other primates. Once located, spend time observing their behavior in their natural habitat. Later in the afternoon, enjoy a guided walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, famous for birdlife, monkeys, and community tourism experiences.
Day 3: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, depart Kibale Forest and begin your journey north to Murchison Falls National Park. Enjoy scenic views of rural Uganda, local communities, and rolling landscapes along the way. Upon arrival, visit the top of the spectacular Murchison Falls where the Nile River squeezes through a narrow gorge before plunging dramatically below.
Day 4: Morning Game Drive & Nile Boat Cruise
Start the day with an early morning game drive across the savannah plains of Murchison Falls National Park in search of lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, leopards, and other wildlife species. In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise along the Nile River to the bottom of Murchison Falls where you may spot hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and numerous bird species.
Day 5: Rhino Tracking at Ziwa & Transfer Back to Entebbe
After breakfast, depart Murchison Falls National Park and travel back towards Entebbe with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking on foot. This exciting experience completes your Big Five safari adventure in Uganda. Continue to Entebbe for your airport transfer or hotel drop-off.
